Bio
Arman Wali is a Pakistani-American musician from South Portland, Maine. His music incorporates strong influences from nature, classical/impressionist composers, jazz, and traditional Pashtun music. He blends critical elements of each of these diverse sources to create a unique musical expression. Arman has recorded and performed extensively throughout New England, Chicago, New York, and Washington DC and around the U.S.
Arman also arranges and is a musical director for theater. He has performed with and arranged for several Broadway Artists such as Blaine Krauss (Hamilton), Elizabeth Stanley (Jagged Little Pill), Thayne Jasperson (Newsies), and Abby Mueller (Six), among others, and is actively involved in theater and arts education programs in the Greater Boston Area.
Arman has recently performed at the House of Blues Boston, Charles River Jazz Festival, and the Institute of Contemporary Art. Arman is currently involved in various projects including electronic experimental trio “Intersync” and is recording an album of Pashto-Jazz Fusion original music. He has studied both classical and contemporary music with Anastasia Antonacos, Alain Mallet, and Simon Shaheen. He is currently finishing his studies at Berklee College of Music with a full-tuition scholarship
